BEAUTIFUL!

One of the things I LOVE about fall is the beautiful trees, especially the yellow maples. Driving around in the fall can be an experience for the eyes. I see the trees all the time but their beauty never ceases to amaze me. Fall brings a Thanksgiving all its own. It makes your heart happy.

I love fall Saturdays raking the leaves (might as well), fall football games, homemade soup and the kids coming home for weekend jaunts. People seem happy in the fall. We talk about the weather, the talk about the leaves, we talk about what we are going to cook. Things are just cozier in the fall.

One of my prayers continue to be to have a heart of gratitude. I know I take many things for granted but I want a heart that is awed by the simplest of things the Lord has provided such as a friend who took the time to send you a card, a postman bringing your mail to your door, my dog who is excited to see me every time I come home. I don't want to take family for granted either. I have a great family and I love them all. They are each unique and wonderful but sometimes I forget that. A grateful heart is a thankful heart. Thank you God for all you have done. My eyes and heart cant take it all in......but I am grateful. :)

Lovin' the Seasons

The weather has been gorgeous. I try to stay outside as much as possible. Raking has claimed many hours...ugh! but did I mention the weather is gorgeous? Sometimes it takes my breathe away when I look at the many colors of the trees and when I look at the sky. I cant fathom all that I see and yet I know there is a God who is the artist and designer of it all. It makes me believe all over again. It brings a joy that nothing else can. I love every season. Each season has a beauty all its own. I am grateful to live in a place where all four seasons are so obvious and so wonderful. The changing of seasons reminds me of the changing of the seasons of my life. I quite frankly I was ready for a change. Last season was hard and long. I learned much, gleaned much, and persevered thru much. But I am in a new season. It has new things to teach me, new things to show me, new things for me to experience. Thank you God for the seasons of the earth and the seasons of our lives.

Saturday

That was then....this is now

Don't let the date of the last post confuse you. It WAS last year! I was recovering from shoulder surgery when suddenly had terrible pain in both my eyes and I lost my ability to see. I had a very sudden condition of the cornea come upon me that took away my ability to focus. Literally. Everyone looked like blurry trees. It was extremely painful and a medical condition that took months to clear up. Ugh! Needless to say, I wasn't on the computer or anything else. But....... that was then, this is now.

God is good. Even in the mix of bad days, bad shoulder surgery and bad vision he is faithful. I have experienced the grace of God in trials and tribulations. I learned to lean on Him like never before. It was a quiet time in my life.....on all fronts. Being confined to the house and not being able to drive or get around on my own much less be on the computer, or read or watch TV - gave pause to listen a LOT more. I heard God speak. He was gentle and yet firm. He was loving and compassionate. He spoke of things past and things to come come. I treasure this time. I am now moving forward because as I said... That was then....this is now.
